The former chief medical officer of the Grand-Est police force was sentenced on Tuesday to 18 months suspended prison sentence by the Metz criminal court (Moselle).

A month earlier, he had appeared in court to answer for sexual assault.

Seventeen plaintiffs had brought a civil action, reports France Bleu Lorraine Nord.

The facts occurred between 2016 and 2018, during medical visits.

Finally, the defendant was found guilty of sexual assault on 16 victims.

He will have to pay each of them compensation ranging from 1,500 to 2,000 euros.

He was also sentenced to five years of ineligibility.
