“An emergency situation has developed in the energy sector of Ukraine.

For the heating season, the coal deficit is at least 2.5 million tons, the gas deficit is at least 3 billion cubic meters, ”the party’s press service quoted Tymoshenko as saying.

According to her, 350 thousand tons of coal remain in the warehouses, which will be enough until the third decade of December.

She noted that the authorities need to introduce an "energy emergency".

Tymoshenko added that the government should also take stock of the money that is on the account of Naftogaz and buy back 3 billion cubic meters of gas, which are in gas storage facilities and belong to private owners, at a negotiated price.

Earlier, the Ukrainian side expressed a desire to extend the gas transit contract with the Russian Gazprom for 15 years.
