"To ratify the agreement between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan on the creation of the Joint Regional Air Defense System of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tajikistan, signed in the city of Dushanbe on April 27, 2021," the document says.

It is noted that the new system will become part of the unified air defense system of the CIS member states.

The agreement is concluded for five years with the possibility of automatic renewal.

In April, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the creation of a joint air defense system by Russia and Tajikistan.

According to him, the system will "improve the reliability of the protection of the state border in the airspace."
