This Tuesday, in the early afternoon, an impressive accident between a train and a tractor took place in Bavinchove, a town near Saint-Omer, in the North, we learned from the departmental fire service and relief (SDIS) of the North.

The balance sheet shows a serious injury.

Shortly before 2 p.m., an agricultural tractor equipped with a heavy trailer broke down while crossing the level crossing located on the departmental road 933 which crosses the TGV North line between Dunkirk and Lille.

Unable to move his machine, the tractor driver managed to get out of his vehicle before a train arrived.

The front of the train completely pulverized

However, the shock was inevitable.

An incredible TGV struck the agricultural complex, throwing the tractor on one side of the railway line and the trailer on the other.

The latter overturned, spreading its cargo of onions on the track and on the roadway.

The damage is impressive on both vehicles.

The rear of the tractor is sprayed and the front of the axle is fully seated.

A serious injury is to be deplored, a passer-by having received a projectile following the impact.

The driver of the agricultural machine, the driver of the train and the 50 passengers on board were all unharmed.

A road diversion has been set up by the gendarmerie.

Train traffic between Lille and Dunkirk is interrupted for an indefinite period.
