Recall that over the past few months, the Russian FSB has repeatedly reported on cases of prevention of planned terrorist acts, arrests of persons who tried to support terrorist groups, and other cases of suppression of illegal activities.

So, at the end of October, the service employees revealed the activities of the extremist community of a right-wing radical orientation in the territory of Buryatia.

Community members intended to carry out actions against government officials, law enforcement agencies, as well as people from Central Asia living in the region.

“A criminal case has been opened against the organizer and three active participants in the structure under Part 1 and Part 2 of Article 282.1 (“ Creation of an extremist community and participation in an extremist community ”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” the FSB said.

In March, the FSB reported on the prevention of a terrorist attack at an energy facility in the Kaliningrad region.

The siloviki detained a Russian citizen who was planning to commit a terrorist act "out of hatred of the current government."

In addition to preparing for the attack, the man recruited local residents to participate in terrorist activities.

"At his place of residence, an improvised explosive device, instructions for its manufacture and components for synthesizing explosives, as well as materials with offensive content against Russian executive and legislative bodies were found," the service noted.

A criminal case was opened against the detainee.

In June, the FSB in Tyumen suppressed the activities of a secret cell of supporters of the international terrorist organization "Islamic State" *.

The service noted that it consisted of citizens of one of the republics of the Central Asian region, planning "at the direction of foreign MTO emissaries to commit sabotage and terrorist acts at objects of mass stay of people."

During the arrest of the leader of the gang and his accomplice, who were trying to extract money from a cache on the outskirts of the city, the criminals offered armed resistance to the security forces and were neutralized.

A ready-to-use improvised explosive device, firearms and ammunition, as well as communications equipment and religious literature were found in the homes of the cell members.

In addition, in early July, the FSB prevented a series of terrorist attacks in Moscow, Kabardino-Balkaria and the Astrakhan region.

As a result of the special operation, six terrorists were eliminated, two were detained.

At the end of July, the Investigative Committee also announced the arrest of seven members of the extremist community who were planning a terrorist attack on the territory of a police department in Kislovodsk.

Residents of the Republic of Dagestan, the Karachay-Cherkess Republic and the Stavropol Territory were involved in organizing the planned attack.

According to the investigation, a religious association was organized in Kislovodsk, the purpose of which was "to establish world domination of a radical form of Islam and the creation of a single Islamic state in the Russian Federation."

Two members of the community planned to carry out a terrorist attack on the territory of the administrative building of the Kislovodsk police department using an improvised explosive device they had made.
