“In addition to giving consent to the lifting of parliamentary immunity and initiating a case, the Prosecutor General asks the State Duma to consent to a number of investigative actions and the election of a preventive measure against the deputy, related to the prohibition of certain actions,” RIA Novosti quotes him.

A representative of the prosecutor's office said that Rashkin did not cooperate with the investigation, and also "gave false and confusing testimonies to law enforcement agencies."

Bochkarev also said that the deputy "misled the public, did not give out samples for a comparative study at the scene of the crime and, moreover, concealed the instrument of the crime."

"The investigation ... made it possible to establish the involvement of a group of persons in this crime, which included Valery Fedorovich Rashkin ...", - he said.

According to him, Rashkin "committed illegal hunting of elk and caused damage to the animal world in the amount of at least 80 thousand rubles."

Earlier, Valery Rashkin, in a video message on YouTube, confessed to killing an elk.

He noted that while hunting with a thermal imager, he saw the silhouette of an artiodactyl, which outwardly resembles a large wild boar.
