November 22, 2021 Another twenty-four hours of search and rescue operations at sea for the NGO Sea Watch off the coast of Lampedusa, which saved dozens of migrants from the icy waters and also from the ramming of the Libyan coast guard. In the morning, more than one hundred people were spotted aboard a wooden boat that was taking on water due to the rough sea and so the transshipment operations were carried out on the Sea Watch 4, which now carries 482 shipwrecked people, according to a first estimate.



The latest in favor of a small fiberglass boat with 7 people.

A newborn is also on board.

"There are now 482 castaways on our ship - says the German NGO - waiting to be able to disembark in a safe harbor".

And there could be other boats in trouble due to the rough sea in the Mediterranean, as reported by the Alarm Phone, which speaks of over two hundred migrants, in four different boats, awaiting rescue in Maltese waters.

Among them also a one-day-old baby.

Still arrivals in Lampedusa


Another 350 migrants have already disembarked in Lampedusa, three boats involved in the rescue with 138 people.

On the first one, rescued off the coast of the island, 69 were traveling: 12 women and 2 minors were also on board.

On the last two small boats, however, there were 44 and 25 people.

On the first also 16 women and 9 minors, on the second two women and a minor. Since yesterday morning almost 500 migrants have landed.

For all, the transfer to the hotspot in the Imbriacola district has been arranged.
