The suspect of the murder of a homeless 31-year-old this Thursday in Saint-Égrève (Isère) was indicted and placed in detention.
He is a 60-year-old man, also homeless, who had been briefly hospitalized and taken into police custody.
He had indeed been slightly injured in the fight which would have opposed him to the victim.
His imprisonment was decided by the examining magistrate to whom he was presented this Saturday, reports France 3 Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
Piece of wood against iron bar
The victim, of Latvian origin, could not be resuscitated by the emergency services dispatched to the site, rue de la Biolle.
A fight had broken out between this young man and the suspect.
To strike, the first homeless would have used a piece of wood while the second would have been provided with an iron bar, said the prosecutor of the Republic of Grenoble (Isère), Eric Vaillant.
"The precise circumstances of the altercation, such as the reason for the dispute between the two men, will have to be clarified by the examining magistrate," the magistrate also commented.
