The authorities have struck a blow in the fight against drug trafficking and the settling of scores in Marseille.
This Thursday, a large police operation "made it possible to arrest 11 people in the departments of Bouches-du-Rhône and Gard," said Dominique Laurens, the prosecutor of the Republic of Marseille.
These individuals are suspected of having taken part in the kidnapping of a man whose body was found in the trunk of a vehicle that burned down on August 22 in Marseille, said the prosecution.
In the series of bloody settling of scores this summer, the latter had marked a turning point in horror: the autopsy had revealed that the victim had been burned while she was still breathing.
This crackdown was carried out under the authority of an investigating magistrate from the specialized jurisdiction of Marseille, like the investigations concerning other assassinations committed against the background of drug trafficking.
