November 22, 2021 A 12-year-old boy who had expressed his willingness to be immunized against the conflicting opinions of his parents, separated, one in favor, the other against, will be able to vaccinate against Covid. So decided the Court of Ancona, civil section, with a decree filed today. The minor had expressed a desire to receive the anti-Covid vaccine, finding the consent of the mother and the dissent of the father. For this, through his mother, resident in the province of Ancona, he filed an urgent appeal to the Court. Today the filing of the decision that gave the green light to the 12-year-old for the vaccine.

This is the first ruling of this type by the Court of Ancona since the beginning of the pandemic. The family is Italian and the minor's parents are separated: when the child asked for the vaccine he found two opposite opinions. The decision of the Court, taken collegially, now authorizes the applicant party (the mother) to give her consent so that the minor child receives the vaccine even without paternal consent. From today or tomorrow at the latest, the mother will be able to take her child to a vaccination center and present the accepted appeal that will allow her to have the boy inoculate.

The appeal was presented urgently because the minor had contracted Covid a year ago and in a few days the maximum time limit within which - to consider the vaccination valid, effective and useful for issuing the Greenpass - would have expired with just one dose.

The father could challenge the provision but at the moment it would not seem willing to do so.
