The investigation, which lasted several months, bore fruit.
Eight people were arrested last Tuesday in the Brittany and Hauts-de-France regions as part of an operation to combat drug trafficking involving nearly 70 gendarmes, reports the Ille-et-Vilaine gendarmerie.
The searches carried out in Rennes and in the city of Saint-Quentin (Aisne) resulted in major seizures: 12 kg of cannabis resin, 336 g of heroin, but also 10,000 euros in cash and several firearms.
Justice did not drag on.
Six of the eight suspects were sentenced on Friday to terms ranging from 18 months to 30 months in prison according to the appearance procedure on prior admission of guilt.
Two other members of the network will be tried later by the Rennes criminal court.
In the meantime, they have been remanded in custody.
