After several photos in the past few days, Chinese state media published videos of Peng Shuai, and she appeared in a competition.

Three weeks after her accusations of sexual assault against a former minister, the tennis player therefore appears physically safe and sound, but not necessarily free.

In this one-minute video, the topic of conversation is none other than today's date.

A way to prove that the video dates from Saturday, November 20.

The Chinese state press sends what has all the characteristics of these proofs of life shared by hostage takers.

I acquired two video clips, which show Peng Shuai was having dinner with her coach and friends in a restaurant.

The video content clearly shows they are shot on Saturday Beijing time.

This morning, another video shows the player attending a tennis competition.

Peng Shuai showed up at the opening ceremony of a teenager tennis match final in Beijing on Sunday morning.

Global Times photo reporter Cui Meng captured her at scene.

Three weeks

after accusing Zhang Gaoli

, a former minister, number seven in the regime, of rape, Peng Shuai reappeared.

Proof that the international mobilization in his favor has had an effect.

We now know that she is in Beijing, apparently lives at home, and has been outside several times.

Free?

However, Peng Shuai is still gagged.

She has not spoken directly since her accusations, and the tennis players' association, the WTA, has never been able to contact her.

The propaganda images are only broadcast abroad: in China the Peng Shuai affair is still tightly censored.

The player is therefore very much alive but there is nothing to confirm that she is free.
