The pioneers of social networking sites in Egypt monitored the moment a dust storm arrived in Fayoum Governorate (in the northern Upper Egypt region), and said that it resembles a hurricane due to its huge size and density.

A clip published by the Al Jazeera-Egypt Facebook page showed the scene of the storm's arrival, and it can be viewed in the main video.

The communication sites also showed many clips showing cars stopping on the road amid a state of shock that prevailed among pedestrians, and warnings of exposure.

Activists expressed their fears of the size of the storm, which appeared to be a huge wall that does not show what is behind it.

A second birth page described the scene as terrifying, commenting on a section of the storm from Fayoum, the entrance to Ibshaway tourist.
