According to President Yoweri Museveni, twelve alleged members of the ADF have been killed by the police, and 106 suspects have been arrested since last June, the date of the attempted assassination of General and Minister of Transport Katumba Wamala, first attack attributed to the terrorist cell responsible for the latest attacks.

"

The most important thing is to stop all the people who have the idea of committing these attacks in our society,

" declared the head of state.

And that's why we won't listen to anyone talking about bail.

Because for example, the implicated Muslim leader, whom the police killed this week, was apparently a repentant ADF who had been granted amnesty.

We cannot give these parasites any new chances.

 "

In discussion with Felix Tshisekedi

This week, a Muslim leader suspected of having participated in the reactivation of ADF sleeper cells in Kampala was shot dead by law enforcement, along with four other suspected members of the terrorist group.

But the threat of further attacks continues to hang over Uganda.

The public must remain vigilant, because until we stop them all, they will continue to constitute a danger in the short term, if we do not take precautions,

 ” continued the Ugandan president.

Yoweri Museveni also claims to be in discussion with his counterpart Félix Tshisekedi, president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, whose east of the country has served as an operational base for the ADF group for twenty years.
