Andalusia Fourth day in Cádiz of a metal strike without any sign of agreement and with new roadblocks and clashes between police and protesters
Incidents The metal strike prevents health workers and the sick from accessing the La Línea hospital and leaves a truck driver injured
The
informational pickets
of the metal strike in the province of
Cádiz
are also acting this Saturday at the gates of the main industries in the bay of Cádiz that work on the weekend, such as the shipyards, which is the fifth day of the indefinite stoppages in the sector.
As explained by the secretary of FICA-UGT, Antonio Montoro, there are
workers stationed at the gates
of the factories to inform workers with weekend shifts and to denounce the "threats" that, he assures, some workers have received from their companies to force them to go to work.
"We have already entered the chapter of
calls to workers
threatening them that they may lose their jobs if they do not go to work," he denounced.
The pickets have cut off access to traffic at the San Fernando shipyard and have staged rallies at the gates of the Cádiz and Puerto Real factories.
This afternoon the Coordinator of Metal Workers, the Bahía de Cádiz Trade Union Confluence and the CGT have convened a
rally at five in the afternoon
that will depart from the Ingeniero La Cierva roundabout and head towards the city center.
The majority unions, UGT and CC.OO., have postponed their call for a demonstration to next Tuesday, coinciding with a student strike in support of the metal sector.
The Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs of Cádiz (FEMCA) and the unions have been unable to reach an agreement in the two negotiation attempts that have been held since a strike began on Tuesday that has sown the Cadiz capital with incidents and clashes and the main industrial nodes in the province.
