The United States is involved in the case of the missing Chinese tennis player.

On Friday, Washington said it was "very concerned" about the fate of Peng Shuai, who disappeared after accusing a former senior official of the Chinese Communist Party of having raped her.

White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki called on Beijing to provide "verifiable evidence" regarding the safety of the athlete and her whereabouts.

In recent days, from the UN to tennis authorities via the Quai d'Orsay, positions have multiplied to ask China to shed light on the disappearance of the sportswoman.
