The UAE celebrates Children's Day with a track record of giving locally and globally

 The UAE participates with the countries of the world in the celebration of the International Children’s Day, which falls on November 20 of each year, as it continued in 2021 to promote the gains that would protect children at the local and international levels, and to enhance the guarantee of their rights in all aspects of society, family, health and education, and all that It provides them with opportunities to enjoy a decent life and a better future.


This year's occasion coincides with the Emirate of Sharjah winning for the second time in a row the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) award for child-friendly cities, which is the highest global award given to honor the pioneering initiatives presented by child-friendly cities.


Over the past years, the UAE has launched a wide range of laws and initiatives that have enhanced the child's gains and moved his care efforts from the stage of guaranteeing basic rights to the stage of empowerment. The basic rights of the child, health, education and intellectual protection, in addition to the initiatives of the Ministry of Interior, which established the Higher Committee for Child Protection in 2009 and the Child Protection Center in 2011 and launched a hotline to facilitate reporting of cases of child abuse.

The UAE has been interested in developing the capabilities of Arab children by establishing the Arab Children’s Parliament of the League of Arab States in Sharjah. Its sessions are held every year on Emirati Children’s Day. The Arab Parliament for Children aims to consolidate the concept of participation in decision-making through joint dialogue among children of Arab countries.

In 2018, the UAE succeeded in mobilizing more than 450 religious leaders from around the world in the activities of the Conference “The Alliance of Religions for the Security of Communities: Child Dignity in the Digital World” with the aim of developing a common global vision to enhance the protection of societies, especially children, from extortion crimes across the digital world. and dangers of the Internet.
