Through the Children and Pupils' Representative (BEO), the pupil has filed a claim for damages of SEK 10,000 against Piteå Municipality, which is the principal of the school where the teacher worked.

"Right to pay damages"

The Children and Pupils' Ombudsman states that the action has physical and degrading elements and has also occurred in front of several other pupils.

- We think it is right that the student receives damages and share the children and student representative's assessment, says the children and education committee's chairwoman Louise Mörk (S).

Must have happened on several occasions

According to Piteå-Tidningen, the teacher must have put an electric cable around the neck of students for 20 years to concretely illustrate an important part of their teaching and then the teacher must have tightened the cable to show his point while the classmates were allowed to watch.
