Austria will reconfine itself from Monday, November 22 for at least three weeks, and make vaccination against the coronavirus mandatory from February 1.

The country is facing a sharp increase in the number of infections and at the same time, the vaccination rate remains insufficient.

In the capital, opinions are divided in the face of these new measures against Covid-19.

After a summer of freedom, the Austrians must resolve to a fourth confinement.

For the Viennese, it is even the fifth.

There is therefore weariness in the streets of the capital, and even annoyance.

Andreas, a lawyer, does not hide it: “

I am tired and angry with the unvaccinated.

They did not want to realize what was happening and are now taking the vaccinated with them,

 ”he said.

While Austria now has 15,000 new daily cases, some say they are reassured by this new general confinement, like Mathias Müller.

I find it good that this confinement is finally coming.

For me, that would have already been necessary weeks ago, because contaminations are increasing rapidly and intensive care services will soon be overloaded,

 ”he confides.

The government has also announced that vaccination will be compulsory as of February 1.

It was about time, according to Michko, a young Viennese graphic designer.

 Something has to be done,”

he said.

Without this, we will never get out of this pandemic, it will pursue us!

It's simple: either we go in and out of confinement permanently, or we set up a vaccination obligation.

From an economic point of view too, this is a good measure, because personally I am suffering financially from the confinement.

 "

But not everyone agrees, since a demonstration bringing together anti-vaccines is scheduled for Saturday, November 20 in the Austrian capital.
