• Courts The judge decrees prison for Valentín Moreno and revokes his third degree

  • Courts Sentenced to penalties totaling 157 years six of those accused of the crime of the Olympic Village

A violent ending for a dangerous criminal. The Mossos d'Esquadra are investigating the death of Valentín Moreno, 39, one of those convicted for the so-called 'crime of the Olympic Village' in 2000 and for the racist attack on a soccer team of South American origin by from another group in which there were members of the Boixos Nois in 2009. Specifically, Moreno was shot in the neck at dawn on Friday during a confrontation in Sant Adrià del Besòs.

Seriously wounded, he was transferred to the Can Ruti Hospital in Badalona and there he remained clinically dead for hours until the doctors certified his death. Now the agents are investigating this death as a homicide or murder and if it is related to some kind of reckoning, since Moreno had a long criminal history, related to drug trafficking in the area, near the La Mina neighborhood.

Thus, on April 1, 2000, a few hours after turning 18, Moreno along with a group of friends participated in a fight at the gates of the Olympic Village in which a young man was fatally beaten. Six of those implicated in that fatal beating, which began over a discussion about the ownership of a jacket, were sentenced by the Barcelona Court to sentences that amounted to almost 158 years in prison, while three others were acquitted. However, Moreno, who dealt the first blow to the victim, was tried before in the juvenile jurisdiction and sentenced to eight years of confinement and three years of probation.

In 2009, when Moreno was about to achieve definitive freedom but was in the open regime, he participated in a fight for which the 22nd Criminal Court of Barcelona sentenced him, along with other people, to six years and nine months in prison. Specifically, his team, Bada Bng, during a Third Regional match with Rosario Central, began to beat players and managers of the rival team for racist reasons.

The judge considered it proven that during the match, played on January 10, 2009, several Bada Bing players, among whom was Moreno as well as others linked to the Boixos Nois, uttered insults and racist threats to the members of Rosario Central, and that, after the expulsion of a player, they began to chase and beat them.

Thus, the sentence indicates that the insults and threats they made during the meeting were "shitty shit, I'm going to kill you", "if Franco were alive you would be in your country" and "I'm going to cut off your head, I'm going to put it in in an envelope and I will send it to your country ", among others.
