Two female citizen students have created a device to track the percentage of sodium for athletes, which determines the percentage of sodium lost by the players' body during exercise, to protect them from experiencing any symptoms of fatigue, through rapid intervention when the percentage of sodium lost by the player during exercise is high.

The student, Muzna Muhammad Al-Mansoori, who implemented the project with her sister, Eliazia Muhammad Al-Mansoori, told "Emirates Today" that they designed the device for the athlete to wear to track the percentage of sodium leaving his body, and the device is equipped with sensors and slides that change color, according to the amount of sodium leaving the player's body, The substance accumulated on the slides is then analyzed as a result, to determine how much water the player should consume.

She added, "The project was praised by the jury at the Science, Technology and Innovation Festival, organized by the Ministry of Education, at the Dubai Festival Arena."

She stated that they participated in the project, which took two months to implement, in several local and international competitions, in which they won the first places, including the gold medal and the special prize in the virtual competition for global inventions, which was organized in cooperation between the Association of Young Scientists in Indonesia, Subang Gai College in Malaysia, and the Young Scientist Competition. Technology category at the UAE level, at the Science, Technology and Innovation Festival.

The project also won a gold medal in the Virtual International Exhibition of Engineering, Science, Energy and Arts, organized by the Science and Arts Center of Turkey, during December.
