The Speaker of the Norwegian Parliament, Eva Kristin Hansen from the Labor Party (Labor Party), announces that she is resigning.

The news comes after it became known on Thursday that the police in Oslo have begun an investigation into six members' use of the Storting's commuter flats.

It has not yet been confirmed that Eva Kristin Hansen is among the six.

- I take it for granted that I am among them, she says.

Gahr Støre: "Right that she resigns"

The inquiry is about whether the members of the Storting followed the rules for commuter flats.

Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre (Labor Party) says that he has been informed by Hansen that she will resign from her post.

- I know that this case is painful for her, and that she is sad.

I still think it is right that she now resigns as Speaker of the Riksdag, says the Prime Minister to NRK.
