Just 24 hours after Silje was found dead, the Norwegian police announced that they had found the perpetrators and the case was closed.

Like the Swedish Kevin case, experts believe that the designated boys were pressured to change their history.

Forensic psychologist Julia Korkman believes that one should listen more to their first testimony that they have seen young people abuse Silje.

- That they actually killed Silje and decided to lie about it and invent an alibi with the three young people.

It is a very complicated operation for such small children.

I do not see it as likely.

Young people were seen running - no witness was heard

NRK's review of the Silje case shows that it is not only the children who have testified about young people.

A woman also stated that she had seen three young people aged 15–16 running from the place where Silje was found dead.

But no formal interrogation was ever held with the woman and according to the experts, the police released the trail with the young people.

"Did not complete the tracks"

Per Angel, a private investigator and one of Norway's most experienced forensic scientists, has examined the evidence and found several shortcomings.

Among other things, there is nothing in the documentation to indicate that an attempt has been made to secure blood traces or DNA.

- The material has been secured, but more could have been done.

You have not completed the tracks, you could have done more.

This raises questions about accuracy.

The then management of the Trondheim police, and investigators who worked with the case, have refused to respond to the criticism that is now being put forward.

The current Trondheim police have recently investigated the Silje case and Chief of Police Nils Kristian Moe believes that there is no reason to resume the investigation.

- Our main focus and mission was to do a thorough review to see if we believe there are possible other perpetrators.

And we do not see that in the case documents, he says.
