Cementa will receive a temporarily extended permit to mine lime in Slite on Gotland, with some conditions regarding the water.

This is stated by sources to DN.

At 15.40, Minister of the Environment and Climate Per Bolund (MP) is expected to hold a press conference together with Minister of Trade and Industry Ibrahim Baylan (S) regarding the company's application for continued mining operations.

Has warned of shortages

Cementa's permit to mine lime expired on 31 October.

Mining was then stopped, but the stone crusher has continued to work and the production of cement for concrete has continued with stored stone and deliveries from Nordkalk less than 20 km away from Slite.

The company has warned that there may be a shortage of cement if the government does not grant an extended, temporary permit for continued mining by mid-November.

- It will not stop at the fact that construction has 280,000 people who are directly affected.

Because we will not have the opportunity to build, not have wind turbines, battery factories or new railways running, says Catharina Elmsäter-Svärd, CEO of the construction companies, in an interview this summer.
