A Palestinian youth was shot dead by the Israeli police this evening, Wednesday, in the Old City of East Jerusalem, as the Israeli authorities said that he had launched a knife attack targeting Israeli forces in Old Jerusalem.

And the Israeli police said - in a statement - that the incident occurred near the "Ateret Cohanim" Israeli religious school, where the young man stabbed two Border Policemen who were working there.

"The police and a civilian security guard who were at the scene neutralized him (the Palestinian youth) and shot him," she added.

And she added that the stabbing resulted in the injury of two border guards, with slight to moderate injuries, according to medical sources.

Large forces of the Israeli police were called to the scene, according to the same source

On the other hand, the official Israeli channel "Kan" claimed that a Palestinian youth had stabbed two Border Police officers on "Hagai" Street (Al-Wad) in the Old City, as a result of which one of them was slightly injured and the other moderately.

She added that the Palestinian youth was shot and killed.
