The
National Police
adjusted an investigation since yesterday whose main hypothesis rests on an alleged filicide in
Almería
.
Although the investigations are still in a very embryonic phase,
Homicide
agents
are clear that the fire that killed a woman and her two children early Wednesday morning at her home was caused by her, according to sources from the investigation.
Her husband and father of the children, aged 7 and 10, is a truck driver by profession and at the time of the events was working in
Germany
.
The family, of sub-Saharan origin, lived in an attic in the area known as Alquián, in the capital.
The event occurred at around 00.10 hours on Wednesday when residents alerted to the presence of smoke and flames on the top floor of number five of Euro Street, where three fire engines moved.
When they managed to enter the house, they found the lifeless bodies of the woman and children inside one of the rooms whose door was locked with a bed from inside.
They had to tear it down.
The discovery of the three bodies prompted the presence of the Police.
After a first approach to the event and taking into account that access to the bedroom was "conscientiously" blocked, the investigators began to suspect that the fire was caused by the woman, the same sources consulted informed this newspaper.
The intent with which he did it is something that the Homicide Group of the
Almería Police Station
is studying to be able to issue solid conclusions.
The agents are investigating the presence of flammable materials in the room and if the woman was able to use some type of accelerator due to the special virulence of the fire, which completely destroyed the bedroom and barely affected the rest of the house.
The Court of Instruction number 5 of Almería, acting as guard, will receive in the coming days the reports prepared by the firefighters.
In the course of the next few hours, the agents of the
Specialized and Violent Crime Unit
(UDEV) of Almería hope to turn their suspicions about the woman's motivation into certainties.
