Last year, Östergötland was hit by nine shootings - two people died and five were shot.

According to statistics SVT Nyheter has read, only one of the nine shootings has led to prosecution - and in that case, the police had access to chat logs, from the cracked, encrypted communication tool Encrochat.

It is about the high-profile shooting of a 38-year-old leader in the criminal gang No Surrender in the Ingelsta area in Norrköping, where six people were recently sentenced to long prison terms.

Four have been shut down

According to statistics, four of the total of nine shooting cases have been closed - but the case where a young man was probably shot to death by mistake through a door in Skäggetorp is still open.

In the clip above, Chief Prosecutor Eva Nemec Nordh tells more about the difficulties of investigating shootings.
