Vaccination against COVID-19

The mayor's office recalled that vaccination against coronavirus infection continues in Moscow: you can get vaccinated for free in one of the centers based on city polyclinics, or in popular public places where mobile medical teams work.

Vaccination against COVID-19 takes place in all regions of Russia.

Residents of the country can be vaccinated with one of the vaccines registered in the Russian Federation: Sputnik V and Sputnik Light at the Gamaleya Center, EpiVacCorona and EpiVacCorona-N developed by the Novosibirsk Vector Center and KoviVak at the Chumakov Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

According to the data of the operational headquarters to combat the spread of coronavirus, more than 57.9 million people in Russia received the full course of vaccination against COVID-19, more than 61.1 million people were vaccinated with the first component.

Mandatory vaccination against coronavirus for citizens 60 years and older was introduced by the authorities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

This was announced by the chief state sanitary doctor for the region Dmitry Goryaev.

Law enforcement officials should also be vaccinated.

Alexander Gintsburg, director of the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, recommended that young people who have had coronavirus be vaccinated with the Sputnik Light vaccine.

The specialist recalled that such a recommendation was made by the Ministry of Health.

“The Ministry of Health made the absolutely right decision: those under 60 were named Light, and those over 60 were Sputnik V,” he said.

Meanwhile, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev said that RDIF expects the approval of the Sputnik V vaccine by the World Health Organization by the end of 2021.

He described the dialogue between the foundation and the organization as “excellent”.

“We expect approval by the end of the year, and WHO is now overcoming bureaucratic procedures,” Interfax quotes Dmitriev.

Meanwhile, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus spoke about the reasons for the increase in the duration of the coronavirus pandemic.

"The global inequality in access to vaccines, combined with unclear and inconsistent public health measures, prolong the pandemic," the WHO press service quoted him as saying.

This gives the coronavirus more room to move and mutate, he said.
