According to a report from Australia's Ninth News on November 16, American scientists photographed a rare large-fin squid in the deep sea of more than 2,800 meters in the Gulf of Mexico.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) published this video on its Ocean Explorer website.

At that time, scientists captured these images in the 2,835-meter deep ocean near the cliffs of West Florida.

This large fin squid is deeper than other known places where it lives. It has been photographed in the deep sea of 4735 meters.

The largest one found so far is only 6.4 meters long, with arms and tentacles measuring 6.1 meters.

It is believed that the tiny suction cups on its arms and tentacles are used to catch prey that it encounters while dragging in the water or on the bottom of the sea.

Scientists only discovered this creature about 20 years ago, and there are only about 12 confirmed sightings in the world.

Three species of large fin squid have been found, but it is suspected that there may be more.
