It is the oldest supermarket in the Casino group.

It closes its doors at the end of the afternoon instead of 7 p.m. until then.

The group's regional director, Michaël Marié, explains that he simply can no longer ensure the safety of his customers and staff.

The place of all traffic

The Guillotière district has become the site of all traffic in Lyon. Drugs, contraband cigarettes, objects of all kinds sold on the black market ... Several dozen people gather there every day. For Jean-Louis, who has lived here for 40 years, these gatherings take place in an atmosphere of permanent insecurity. “This neighborhood is appalling,” says the Lyonnais, who no longer feels safe. "We are assaulted. I was recently stolen from a chair that I had with me. The neighborhood has changed. The traders are fed up," he said.

An observation shared by other brands.

The McDonald's restaurant in the area has decided to only sell take-out from 3 p.m.

Faced with this tense situation, the police are trying to intervene.

Early Tuesday afternoon, an operation took place with several arrests and identity checks.

However, two hours later, the crowd had already reformed, to the chagrin of the residents.
