The EU-European Union has begun full-scale discussions on the creation of its own EU unit that can respond immediately to a crisis that has been reaffirmed in the wake of the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan this summer.

The EU held a two-day foreign ministers' meeting until the 16th to discuss future security strategy guidelines presented by EU High Representative Borrell.

Borrell said at a press conference after the meeting that the former Soviet Belarus was deliberately trying to cross the border with a large number of migrants on the EU side, dealing with a crisis different from the traditional war. Recognized that is required.

"The EU needs to be able to act more quickly and with determination," he said.

He also explained that the EU's own troops are assuming a maximum of 5,000 people depending on the operation, and that they are keeping in mind various threats including cyberspace and space.

The EU has been preparing for the formulation of guidelines since last year in light of changes in the security environment, but was unable to complete the evacuation of its own people and cooperators during the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan this summer. Since there are not a few member states, there are voices saying that the EU should improve its ability to respond to crises.

The EU aims to adopt the guidelines at the summit meeting in March next year.
