François Fillon and his wife Penelope found themselves at the helm of the Paris Court of Appeal on Monday for the continuation of the "Penelopegate" case. The couple delivered elements of their line of defense, and the lawyer for the former Prime Minister considered that he had not received "the same judicial treatment as any other litigant".

In the coolness of a month of November, François and Penelope Fillon appeared before the Paris Court of Appeal for the continuation of the "Penelopegate" case.

The former Prime Minister of Nicolas Sarkozy had been sentenced to two years in prison for "embezzlement of public funds" and "abuse of social property" and his wife to three years suspended.

On Monday, the words of Penelope and then of François Fillon suggested their line of defense.

Europe 1 went to the Paris Court of Appeal.

"I was paralyzed," said Penelope Fillon

In front of the court, the wife of the ex-Prime Minister, dress with polka dots and blue shawl on the shoulders, explained in her weak voice that we know her, to have appealed because she felt " ridiculed, humiliated "during the first trial.

"I was paralyzed to the point of not being able to express myself as I would have liked," she said at the helm.

"I felt like there was a prejudice about me from the start, and this time I would like to convince you of everything I have done during these years of work."

François Fillon, her husband, "retired" in his own words, also challenges the first judgment, in a more serious and confident voice.

But before hearing his arguments during the debates, his lawyer torpedoed the investigation he is seeking to have annulled.

"There is something rotten in the procedure, François Fillon has not received the same legal treatment as any other litigant," said the lawyer.

He takes as proof the statements after the first trial of the former head of the national financial prosecutor's office saying he was pressured by his hierarchy in this case.
