According to the traffic police, at about 18:30 on the 314th km of the Kochubei - Zelenokumsk - Mineralnye Vody highway, the MAN truck driver tried to avoid hitting the driver of the broken car standing by the side of the road and turned the steering wheel.
As a result, he caught a Volkswagen Polo moving in the opposite direction and pulled off the road, making a roll over.
“A few seconds later, to provide assistance to the MAN driver, four pedestrians tried to approach the scene of the accident, crossing the roadway in an unidentified place,” the traffic police said.
It is noted that the driver of the Mazda car did not have time to react and allowed a collision with pedestrians, as a result of which all four died on the spot.
Three more people were injured as a result of the accident.
