After 15 months of postponements and procedures, the trial of Ghislaine Maxwell opens this Monday in New York with the selection of the jury, as always in the United States.

The former jet-setter is accused in particular of having helped Jeffrey Epstein to organize a sexual network.

Arrested in July 2020, the daughter of former British media mogul Robert Maxwell is accused, among other things, of inciting illegal sex acts and of helping Jeffrey Epstein assault minors. 

Aged 59, Ghislaine Maxwell is referred to by some victims as "

 the tout 

" of the former financier.

According to testimonies, she would have recruited some victims, then minors, and would have brought them to the residences of Jeffrey Epstein where they were sexually assaulted.

Since the start of this scandal, Ghislaine Maxwell has been denying the facts with which she is accused.

Jeffrey Epstein was arrested in 2019 for trafficking in an organized gang of minors.

He had committed suicide in prison before the start of his trial.

But the authorities had decided to prosecute his possible accomplices, Ghislaine Maxwell in the lead.

The trial which opens will be followed closely because of the relations that Ghislaine Maxwell and Jeffrey Epstein had

with celebrities and political figures.

Hearings and debates will begin as soon as the jury selection has been completed.
