The story is worthy of a movie.

It was barely 7 a.m. this Sunday when the guards of the Fresnes prison (Val-de-Marne, Paris region) succeeded in intercepting a woman in pre-trial detention on the rampart walk.

The 31-year-old is said to have managed to drill a hole in the wall of her cell to get out.

Then, thanks to sheets tied to her window, she could have slipped from the second floor of the prison to the sports field.

From there, she reached the rampart walk where she tried, in vain, to open a manhole cover.

It was then that she was intercepted.

A well-oiled scenario, but that was without counting on the prison's motion detector which makes it possible to signal the presence of intruders within the confines of the building.

The national anti-terrorism prosecution has opened an investigation. The young woman had been imprisoned for four years after leaving with her family to Syria to join the Islamic State (IS) organization. She was reportedly deported from Syria to France where she was immediately placed in pre-trial detention pending trial. His profile is supposed to be particularly followed. According to a source familiar with the matter, “

this detainee is not the most dangerous. She was not connected with terrorist companies. Even if it was in the theater of operations abroad

”.

After the escape attempt, the penitentiary immediately checked all the cells in the women's ward to ensure that it was indeed an isolated attempt.
