The "Journalists Association" participates in an international workshop on freedom of the press

Mohammed Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Journalists Association and member of the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Journalists, stressed that the media around the world is facing major challenges at the present time.

This came during his participation in the digital workshop organized by the International Federation of Journalists on freedoms reports for unions and associations of journalists as a tool to promote press freedom and independence, which was held remotely.

Al Hammadi stressed the importance of the workshop, which discussed the essence of journalistic work and what is related to the production of periodic reports on freedom of the press through data collection, monitoring and documentation of violations of journalistic and media work.. He said that without the freedom of the journalist, the press cannot perform its role perfectly.

He said that the Journalists Association issues an annual report in cooperation with the Arab Journalists Union by monitoring and tracking cases of journalists and journalists, and pointed out that benefiting from the expertise of the International Federation of Journalists will help in writing periodic reports professionally, especially that the media may face many challenges in the coming period in light of openness What he witnesses in the digital arena, and how to preserve freedom and protect journalists.

Al Hammadi added that the large Arab presence in this workshop reflects the interest in the aspect of press freedoms and in a way that achieves the objectives of the workshop by coming up with recommendations for press freedom committees in the Arab world.
