The sanction has fallen and will reassure Parisians: Vadim G., accused of having shot passers-by near the Champs-Elysées with a pellet rifle in September, was sentenced to three years in prison, two of which were closed.

A sentence accompanied by fifteen years of prohibition of carrying a weapon and a warrant of committal.

The prosecutor had requested five years in prison, one of which was suspended.

At least four people had been affected, the youngest of them, a 19-year-old man, was injured in the thigh near the right femoral artery causing 15 days of temporary incapacity for work, between the 11th and the September 19.

It was when the fourth victim became known that police were able to spot a man with a sniper rifle over his shoulder on the fourth floor of a building on Avenue George V.

Total denial of the facts

The suspect is quickly arrested. During the search, investigators found in the apartment two pellet rifles, two air pistols, several tear gas canisters, boxes of pellets and targets. Four people filed a civil suit but only one was present at the hearing: Hissam F, the young man who was shot in the thigh. “What I went through had a lot of impact on my life, I developed anxiety. I had the operation, it slowed me down in my life, in my studies, ”he testifies in a serious tone at the helm.

The suspect for his part admitted to being the holder of the weapons: "I bought two pellet rifles, one for a birthday present for a friend, the other for me".

During the investigation, Vadim G. denied having shot at people and assured that he had only aimed at lampposts and pigeons.

At the hearing, the defendant reiterated his statements and admitted to having used his weapon only on the night of his arrest.

“I never targeted anyone.

But my friends present who were drunk could have used the weapon without my knowing it, ”he defended himself.

An argument that did not convince.
