This step comes within the framework of the authority’s efforts to provide sustainable and environmentally friendly mass transportation, as the two buses were equipped with fast charging technologies on the road (Opportunity Charging), which is being applied and tested for the first time in Dubai, where the two buses are charged using an existing electric charger from ABB. “At the La Mer site – South, a night electric charger was also established at Al Quoz bus station to support night charging operations during the parking period of the two buses at the station. During the trial run period that will continue until March 2022, the efficiency of the operation of the two electric buses on the road will be measured, the electric buses will be charged with the electric charger in La Mer and the night charger at the Al Quoz bus accommodation station, the bus drivers will be trained to drive the electric bus and the bus system, and the monitors will be trained.
