Earlier it became known that the Belarusian and Russian paratroopers during the exercises are landing at the Gozhsky training ground in the Grodno region.

“As a result of a sudden strong gust of wind near the ground, the parachutes of two contract servicemen, who had highly qualified parachute training instructors, descended,” RIA Novosti reports the message of the Russian ministry.

The Ministry of Defense added that the domes of the parachutists went out.

“One of the servicemen made an attempt to stop the uncontrolled fall of both, using his reserve parachute,” the department said.

It is noted that after the emergency, the victims were taken to a medical facility.

“Despite the efforts of the doctors, both Russian servicemen under the contract died from their injuries,” the Defense Ministry said.

On November 11, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced that he had asked Russia to join the watch on the borders of the Union State.
