“We explained the situation in which there should not be any double standards compared to how migrants are treated in other EU countries, and not on the border with Belarus,” Lavrov said.

The Russian diplomat noted the need to act in the same vein, fully respecting the principles of international humanitarian law.

Earlier it was reported that the foreign ministers of the EU countries intend to discuss on November 15 the expansion of sanctions against Belarus in connection with the situation with migrants.

Earlier, the head of the European Council Charles Michel said that the European Union should increase the sanctions pressure on Belarus in connection with the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border.
