The background to the migrant crisis in eastern Poland is what the EU calls a "hybrid attack".

The EU, NATO and the US have accused Belarus of coordinating the large influx of migrants in an attempt to put pressure on the European Union.

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki calls the refugee crisis state terrorism and that the wave of migrants at the border between Poland and Belarus is a threat to the security of the entire EU.

Belarus' Ministry of Defense has denied the allegations.

In an interview published by the state-owned Belarussian news agency Belta, Lukashenko claims that the Western world is to blame for creating the influx of refugees.

The aid does not reach


Exactly how many migrants and refugees have entered the EU via Belarus in recent months is impossible to say, but according to the Polish border guards, more than 30,000 illegal attempts have been made to cross the border since August.

At the same time, there is a state of emergency along the border and journalists and aid organizations have been prevented from traveling to the area through a closure zone.
