Friday's weather: rain in the northwest, calm weather elsewhere

Friday will be marked by a start of calm towards the Mediterranean and the arrival of an inactive disturbance from the north-west, according to Météo-France forecasts.

From Roussillon to Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Corsica, the sky will still be very cloudy.

The rains will still be frequent and sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms near the sea at the beginning of the day, but over the hours the showers will gradually diminish.

In the Languedoc, clearings will develop even in the afternoon.

On the Pyrenees, clouds will dominate all day, with a few possible drops.

In Brittany and in the north of Cotentin, the sky will become cloudy from the start of the day and may give light rains.

This time will extend to the Pays de la Loire and the entire Channel coast during the morning, then to Hauts-de-France in the afternoon.

Over the rest of the country, fogs will be frequent, even generalized and sometimes dense until midday, locally icing in the Grand Est.

They will dissipate very slowly and clearings will return.

But greyness may persist locally, in particular towards the Lorraine plateau, the Alsace plain, the Val de Saône and Midi-Pyrénées.

Minimal to -4 locally

Minimum temperatures will go from 3 to 8 degrees on the Channel and Atlantic coasts as well as from Aquitaine to PACA, from 9 to 15 degrees on the Mediterranean rim, they will drop further to -3 to +2 degrees on the rest of the country, locally -4.

The maximums will range from 6 to 11 degrees from the Grand-Est to Franche-Comté and the Val de Saône, they will reach 11 to 16 degrees in the rest of the northern half, 12 to 18 degrees in the south of the country, locally 19 .
