Al-Tayeb thanks the UAE for its contribution to the establishment of the new Al-Azhar Library

The Supreme Council of Al-Azhar expressed its thanks and appreciation to the United Arab Emirates for completing the establishment of the new Al-Azhar Library, which represents a lofty, enlightening scientific edifice that restores the glories of the old Al-Azhar library before it was in its session today. It has a separate building in the headquarters of the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar.

The Sheikh of Al-Azhar also expressed his appreciation for the role of the UAE and its leadership in serving the issues of the Islamic nation and global humanitarian issues, stressing that its efforts are an extension of the legacy of the founder, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, "may God rest his soul."

The Supreme Council of Al-Azhar affirmed its appreciation for the relationship between Egypt and Al-Azhar in the UAE, to achieve cooperation in various scientific, cultural and religious fields, and to hold international conferences and symposiums that support interfaith dialogue and human brotherhood and promote the values ​​of world peace and rapprochement between East and West.

This cooperation between Al-Azhar and the Emirates comes within the framework of the extended and strong relations between them in the service of religion and science, the advancement of scientific research, and the availability of various scientific sources and references and historical and rare manuscripts to researchers from all over the world to benefit from this diversity and originality that Al-Azhar Library enjoys.

The new library was established according to the latest international methods and with high technologies, which contributes to linking the library electronically with various universities and global libraries and making its contents available to students and researchers from anywhere. Securing the current library holdings and the valuable manuscripts and publications in its library through the latest electronic monitoring and insurance systems.

The ancient Al-Azhar Library is considered a treasure, a reference and an important and powerful tributary for researchers from all over the world. It has a leading and effective role in spreading culture, Islamic sciences, the Arabic language and modern sciences, and preserving the great Islamic heritage that the library includes. It has 116,133 books in various sciences and arts, located in more than Half a million volumes.
