(Fighting against new crown pneumonia) Malaysia will vaccinate people over 40 years old with new crown vaccination booster

China News Agency, Kuala Lumpur, November 10 (Reporter Chen Yue) Malaysian Health Minister Hairi Jamaluddin announced on the 10th that all citizens over the age of 40 will be vaccinated with a booster of the new crown vaccine.

Khairi pointed out that the intensive vaccination will be given priority to people over the age of 40 who have comorbidities of new coronary pneumonia. The Malaysian government will successively notify eligible people to vaccinate, hoping to improve the people’s immunity.

As a local bottling manufacturer of Kexing vaccine in China, Farma Malaysia has issued a statement saying that it has submitted an application to the Ministry of Health of Malaysia to use Kexing vaccine as a booster injection. This application is currently in the "final stage" of review. Will soon be approved by the Malaysian Drug Regulatory Authority.

Malaysia has previously started to vaccinate the elderly over 60 years old and front-line workers in the fight against the epidemic.

However, Ha'iri pointed out that after the booster vaccination was started, about 40% of the people received vaccination notifications to miss their appointments.

He worries that the low rate of booster vaccination may lead to an increase in the hospital admission rate under the epidemic.

According to a report from the Ministry of Health of Malaysia, as of 12 noon on the 10th, the country had newly confirmed 6,243 new cases of new coronary pneumonia in the past 24 hours. Since October 29, this number has exceeded 6,000 for the first time.

Since November, most of the confirmed cases in a single day in Malaysia have remained below 5,000. However, in the past three days, the number of confirmed cases in a single day has increased day by day, from more than 4,000 to more than 5,000 to more than 6,000 on the 10th.
