Center Party member Gunnar Selberg, who is a municipal councilor in Kiruna, welcomes the change in beach protection, which means that it will be easier to build in attractive beachfront areas in sparsely populated areas.

Gunnar Selberg is himself involved in a case of beach protection exemption in his tourist facility in Kurravaara.
The case concerns, among other things, an application for a beach protection exemption for new construction of a sauna and a change of use of a boathouse.
The beach protection exemption has traveled between the Environment and Building Administration and the County Administrative Board and the Environment and Building Committee.
The latest decision is from the environment and building committee, which granted the beach protection allowance - and now the County Administrative Board has the matter on its table again.
