The hostel in Karlskoga has two departments, the RIA farm which is a day activity and The Whole Man which is a night activity for people who do not have a home and need a roof over their heads.

The idea with the accommodation is that people without a home should be able to sleep there and not use drugs, then leave in the morning.

Closed accommodation temporarily

But drugs have been seen and noticed more frequently at the accommodation recently, which resulted in the accommodation closing completely for a few days.

A guest on The Whole Man was affected and a dispute broke out which then led to threats.

This made the whole person decide to temporarily close the accommodation as a mark.

- We closed The Whole Man for a week and open on Thursday again.

More drugs have come in and the fact that we closed was a signal from our side, says Britt Johansson who is the coordinator at Hela mensan.

Difference now and then

In the past, Härberget has received drugs, but not at all in the amount it is now, nor heavy drugs.

- We notice it because we have to call both ambulance and police.

It can be about guests having a heart attack, overdose and this type of event happened extremely rarely before, Britt Johansson concludes.

Hear the staff talk about how they have been at the accommodation recently when more and more drugs have entered the accommodation.
