It is about care for mental illness and addiction problems at the Norwegian care facility Sanks, which offers language- and culture-adapted care for Sami.

There is no corresponding institution in Sweden and the agreement that has now been signed covers the regions in Dalarna, Norrbotten, Jämtland-Härjedalen and Västerbotten.

Offers care in Sami

Many Sami have described that they feel compelled to train their therapist in Sami culture, and that it contributes to prolonging the care process and recovery.

Sanks offers care in Sami by Sami therapists, at its main establishment in Karasjok or one of its other branches in Norway.

It is also possible to receive care digitally.
