The firefighters were called shortly before 6 p.m. on the departmental road 50 for a vehicle, with two adults and three children on board, which had lost control before swerving.
When they arrived, they took care of a 7-year-old girl, who was in a state of absolute emergency.
She died when she arrived at the hospital center.
The other two children and an adult were slightly injured.
The runaway driver
The driver, on the other hand, fled before help arrived.
This Tuesday, this man, who could be identified, was still "actively" wanted according to the prosecutor of Castres, Chérif Chabbi.
The link between the girl and the latter, from a family of the community of Travelers, was not yet established according to the head of the prosecution.
