On Monday, former US President Barack Obama spoke at the climate summit in Glasgow.

In his speech, he states that the world has not done enough to deal with the climate crisis.

- We have not done close to what we should to deal with this crisis.

We will need to do more, he says.

Obama specifically criticizes China and Russia, calling their climate plans "shameful" and a sign of a lack of insight.

- It is particularly disappointing that the leaders of two of the world's largest emitting countries, China and Russia, have refused to participate, he says and adds the importance of leading economies now having to be helped.

- We can not afford to have anyone on the sidelines.

Flashes of light

At the same time, flashes of light and signs of positive development are mentioned.

Like the fact that a number of countries during the meeting agreed to reduce methane emissions by 30 percent by 2030 and youth leadership.

- We can not afford hopelessness, we must use the citizens' passion and activism to push governments, companies and everyone else to meet this challenge.
