Lavrov: Russia is ready to work with the leadership of the Federal Republic of Germany, regardless of its party composition

We are always open to constructive dialogue with the German leadership, regardless of its party and personal composition, ”Lavrov said.

He expressed confidence that the meeting of the Potsdam Meetings would make a useful contribution to the development of Russian-German relations in the field of public diplomacy and enrich the bilateral agenda with fresh initiatives.

Last week, the interim Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, at the presentation of the Walter Rathenau medal in Berlin, declared the need to continue the dialogue with Moscow.

The Kremlin earlier expressed hope for continuity in relations with Germany after the elections.
